If you have your own horse/pony, and you are keen to enter a range of events, then Equestrian is for you.
You don’t have to have competed before, or be ESNZ registered, there are classes in each event to suit everyone. Students and their horse/pony are required to be registered on equestrian entries prior to event entry. Parents are required to provide transport to and from the events.
A lot of students who compete in Equestrian are affiliated with local Pony Clubs. The internet will provide you with contact details and information regarding these clubs, and when/where they meet.
|Teacher in Charge
||Mrs H Reed-Hadley
||A parent volunteer acts as manager at the event. They are required to be present and take attendance, and delegate the school jobs such as picking up rails or scribing for the judges.
||There is a black shirt purchased from Teamwear at the start of the year. Saddle blankets are borrowed from Whaea Gina the week of the event, and returned as soon as possible after the event in a clean and tidy manner.
||The student pays on an event basis, the cost varies but on average it is $30.
||Classes are generally split on age group or ability and by horse/pony. Each event is slightly different.
