Last week Year 12 students Megan, Caitlyn and Romina were hosted by Connexis and Genesis Energy and spent the day at Huntly Power Station!

‘Girls with Hi-Vis‘ is a programme encouraging more wāhine into the infrastructure industries – Energy, Water, Roading, and Telecommunications. They gain hands-on experience and learn what a career in the infrastructure industry can offer.

Students got to hang out in hi-vis, had a private tour of the power station, tried out dam building, and learned wiring skills! Some inspirational women in the industry – engineers, project managers and electrical apprentices – were on hand to share their experiences with our girls.
