Most of our International students stay in Homestay accommodation while studying at Sacred Heart Girls’ College.  It is a wonderful opportunity for the student to further develop their English language skills and experience the Kiwi way of life.  Students often comment that their Homestay hosts have enhanced their stay in New Zealand in a way that a boarding house/hostel could not, and often their extended NZ family continue a life long connection.  All of our Homestays are near the school as Hamilton is not a large city like Auckland.  Bus services in Hamilton are excellent and very affordable.  Our priority will be to place the student in a safe, comfortable and supportive Homestay.

International staff regularly visit our Homestay students and Police vetting gives further assurance. Sacred Heart Girls’ College won a National Award for Excellence in Pastoral Care of International students. This award assures parents that their daughter is well cared for.  Students also benefit from the school’s comprehensive pastoral care system which includes access to year level Deans and a full-time Guidance Counsellor.
