Head Girl
Rieley Chou-Lee

Talofa lava.
E muamua na si’i atu le vi’iga ma le fa’afetai i le Atua le tama mo lona alofa ua aulia manuia mai le nei aso matagofie.

My name is Rieley Chou-Lee and it is my privilege to serve you all as Head Girl for 2023.

I am a proud Samoan woman with a passion for serving and representing not only my Aiga, school, and culture but also my fellow Sacred Heart sisters. I am a dedicated sportswoman who loves to cooperate in a team environment, so you will no doubt be seeing me either on the Netball court, or the Rugby field!

This year is the year of mission! The year of service! A year to spread God’s good word through actions of love and empowerment. It is a time to strengthen relationships with those around you and an opportunity to strive to be the best version of yourself under the care of your Sacred Heart Community.

A whakatauki that continues to influence me is…
‘If you can choose to be anything, choose to be kind’.

I am a great believer that kindness creates growth and builds an environment where others can thrive in their journeys of development. This year, it is my goal to lead with kindness and manaakitanga, to support you all as not only your Tuakana Teine but as a friend. I encourage you to bring your strengths, talents, and personalities into our Sacred Heart Whanau, so that together, we can all strive to spread God’s message of Love.

Deputy Head Girl Catholic Character
Otobina Bio

Kam na bane ni Mauri, Arau nei Otobina Bio ao ngai bon ami Deputy Head Girl – Catholic Character!

Greetings! My name is Otobina Bio and I am so proud, blessed, and honoured to be serving you all as your Deputy Head Girl – Catholic Character for 2023!

I am from a small island named Kiribati, so it is true what they say, you can hear me before you even see me! Deputy Head Girl – Catholic Character was a leadership position that inspired me the most. My goal is to guide students in our school so they can build a deeper faith within themselves. It is also my goal to promote involvement with the wider community so that our tauira at Sacred Heart can ignite their passion to serve others – me aro ki te ha o Hineahuone.

My Catholic faith is something I am wholeheartedly passionate about. Growing up my faith was the base of my life as my morals, values and identity branched off of it. Just like everyone else, my faith is something I am constantly building on and this role helps me progress with others. One thing I recommend for our young wahine is to get involved with their local youth groups. I have gained confidence, and support and enjoyed rejoicing in the Lord with people who enjoy doing the same.

I am looking forward to this year and what this year may bring. I hope that my time in this role inspires all of you to grow in your faith, in your learning, and your service to others!

“Do not be afraid; only believe.” Mark 5:36

Deputy Head Girl Learning
Mia Gaier

Kia ora, my name is Mia Gaier. It is my honour and privilege to be your Deputy Head Girl of Learning this year.

My role at this school is to ensure that every student has a place and that the journey of learning at Sacred Heart Girls College fills students with courage and helps growth. In addition to this, I am also here to promote the many academic opportunities that Sacred Heart offers to enable students to succeed.

One thing that I have participated in over the past year is Scholarship English. I had the privilege of being the only student at SHGC to attain the scholarship, with a prize of $500. This was an amazing opportunity to test myself and push past what I would usually do in class. The reward, aside from being monetary, was a boosted University application and time spent bettering myself.

My goal this year is to spread awareness about the importance of extracurricular activities such as Model United Nations and Youth Commonwealth- which not only looks amazing on University applications but also enables you to make friends from all over the country and give you a place to talk about the issues that are relevant in the world today.

My motto is; to make memories, take photos, and be kind. there is no need to pretend to be the same person you were yesterday if you think that you can do better today.

I look forward to serving the school community this year, and I hope I can make you all proud.
