On Wednesday 8 June our 1st XV Rugby team travelled to Rotorua to take on Rotorua Girls’ High School 1st XV in round four of the Chiefs Manawa Competition.
We expected a tough encounter, and so it was!
Both teams displayed some firm ball coming into contact as players traded early blows from the get-go. Our 45-29 win came from our ability to get the ball wide with a better catch and pass skill set.
To Rotorua’s credit, they never gave up and scored some good tries in the second half.
Our Player of the Day was Kiana Pohe-Bright, who had several solid runs on the wing, three resulting in a hat trick of tries.
