If you want to keep fit, stay active, challenge yourself or simply be with like-minded people, come and give running a go. Our school Cross Country event is held in Term 2 (May) – so get involved!

Top performing SHGC cross country runners are selected to participate at the local Central Zones Event and depending on placings may attend Waikato Bay of Plenty Championships.

A lot of students who participate in Cross Country/Road running (May – September) are affiliated with a local Club. All of these clubs provide coaching and help to their members. The internet will provide you with contact details and information regarding these clubs.

SHGC Cross Country 2021

The weather was perfect for the SHGC Cross Country held Wednesday 12 May at Hamilton Gardens. The mixed terrain 3.5Km course tested
our competitor’s endurance but some great times were recorded.

Results:
Year 9:

Junior:
1st Rejoice Nhemachena 15.33, 2nd Lola Hennessey 16.30, 3rd Georgia Hay 17.27
Intermediate:
1st Emily Gordon 16.00, 2nd Brooke Pitchford 17.00, 3rd Savannah Freeman 20.37

Uniform
SHGC singlet, black shorts/tights. NB: the Athletics singlet is not sold. Instead, students are loaned a singlet from the school. If the singlet is not returned by the due date (as advised by the Code Coordinator), $20.00 will be invoiced by the school.

Fees
For all competitions, individual fees are based on the # of events a student enters. Payment details will be advised by the Code Coordinator.
