Three Sacred Heart Girls’ College students have been awarded scholarships to universities in the United States in recognition of their outstanding rowing achievements.
Year 13 students Maiya Birdling, Brooke Pitchford and Emily Gordon will travel to the US next year to take up the scholarships.
Maiya has a scholarship to the University of Tennessee, Brooke to Indiana University, and Emily has a scholarship to Southern Methodist University in Texas.
Their rowing coach Kylee Corboy, who is also a former Sacred Heart student, said the trio deserved their scholarships.
“They are such hard working girls. They have that drive and vision you need to do well,” Kylee said.
