Former student Jenny Lewis (third from the left in the photo) is enjoying a gap year overseas.  She was in Rome during Holy Week and describes it as a life-changing experience. In her words:

“Hi! My name is Jenny Lewis, and I’m a recent student of SHGC, graduating last year in the class of 2021. I’ve taken a gap year during 2022 and moved to London to work as an au pair.”

“Very recently, I had the amazing opportunity to experience Rome during Holy Week. And what a life-changing experience it was! Rome in itself is such an awe-inspiring place, but add to the fact that it was Holy Week? INSANE.”

“I went as part of an international conference that brings young Catholics together for Holy week in Rome. It’s a chance to be close to the Pope, and to share your faith with other young people from all over the world.”

“In and amongst all this, I got to see Rome! The Colosseum, the Pantheon, Saint Peter’s Basilica, the catacombs, the Vatican museums and Sistine Chapel, I mean, the list just goes on and on. I learnt so much about myself and my faith, and got to know some of the most wonderful people ever.”

“Trips like this can seem scary and overwhelming; goodness knows I truly freaked out several times, but it was so worth it. To anyone thinking about doing something like this, in the words of Nike: Just do it!”
