The Music Department recently hosted the Young Singers in Harmony Competitions on Monday, June 10, marking an exciting day filled with music and talent. 19 quartets and five choruses took to the stage, with participants journeying from Auckland and Marton to join the competition. The judges were impressed by the remarkable standard displayed, which is evident in the scores awarded.
Sacred Heart’s Heart Attack Chorus won the Upper Voices category in a standout performance, securing the day’s highest score. Additionally, three quartets from SHGC showcased their skills: Take Note Quartet (comprised of Anna Turingan, Phoebe De Maudave Bestel, Christian-Ly Filipo, and Lizzie Barr) claiming the 3rd position, Crescendo (featuring Zoey Bueno, Abby Rollit, Christian-Ly Filipo, and Tegan King) securing 4th place, and Uncalled 4 (including Dani Ramos, Honeylet Kabiling, Sammy Richards, and Kate Hoang) earning the 5th spot. A heartfelt appreciation goes to our dedicated itinerant, Jessie Leov, whose support was instrumental in our success.
With eyes set on the Nationals in Wellington this coming September, our talented performers are ready to showcase their skills on a grander stage. Stay tuned for more updates!
