This week we welcomed Piri into our Kura as she takes up the new role of our Leader of Learning: Te Ao Māori. Her teaching career began at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa teaching Te Reo Māori in the tertiary institute for 9 years. In 2021 she became the Head of the Department of Te Reo Māori at Rototuna Senior High School, teaching Te Reo Māori, Te Ao Māori, Te Ao Haka and Kapahaka. Piri is passionate about kaupapa Māori and enjoys kapa haka, fishing and diving, watching rugby league, walking her bulldogs and spending time with whānau and friends. She is incredibly active in the Rugby League community and has managed Taniwharau Rugby League Juniors to Seniors (throughout the years), Waikato Māori Rugby League and NZ Māori Rugby League. Piri and her husband have four beautiful boys and a mokopuna (grandchild) on the way. WELCOME PIRI!
