Last week we had a visit from a teacher (Shintaro Takada) from Kosei Gakuen Girls’ Junior & Senior High School, in Tokyo, who came to visit two of his students, Naho and Hana. The girls took him on a tour of the school, explaining (in English!) about the various locations and facilities.
Also, our Japanese international students treated their homestay families and the school community to a cultural performance. Our Kapa Haka girls reciprocated with a moving performance of their own, followed by a shared lunch.
It is the time of year when we say Sayonara to many of our Japanese students who are here for just one term. Six girls had their last day last Friday, and a further six left us today. We wish them well!
We welcomed a new long term student, Fiona Lin, from China, and look forward to hosting more short term groups later in the year.
