Hire Fees
The hire fee covers the costs of any maintenance and repairs to the laptop.
- $100 per term (non-refundable).
This must be paid in full at the start of each term. - $400 for the full year (non-refundable).
This lump sum option is paid in advance at the beginning of the year.
General
- We give the student a licence to use the laptop and charger supplied to the parent/caregiver by the School for the student’s studies at the School according to these Terms and Conditions.
- This agreement shall begin when the laptop is supplied to the student and will terminate when the laptop and charger are returned to the School on or before 5 December 2025.
- The term hire fee MUST be paid in full before the start of each term.
Control and Ownership of the Laptop
- The student’s access to the laptop is a licence to use the laptop, but it is not an exclusive right.
- The School reserves the right to recall the laptop for any reason (including upgrading software, operational performance and software inspection, and ensuring it is being used for its intended use).
- Ownership and control of the laptop will always remain with the School, even though the student has possession of the laptop at the School or elsewhere, according to this agreement.
- Nothing in this agreement, nor the delivery of the laptop by the School, constitutes a transfer of ownership of the laptop to the student or the parent/caregiver, or an agreement to transfer ownership, or imposes an obligation for, or confers a right to, transfer ownership of the laptop.
Obligations of the Parent/Caregiver and the Student
- The software loaded on the laptop is licensed to the School. Parties must ensure that the software is not copied, deleted or transferred, for any reason, without the School’s prior written consent.
You must ensure that:
- Only software and plugins/extensions authorised by the School are stored or loaded onto the laptop. No illegal, illicit or unacceptable content is stored or otherwise loaded onto the laptop. If additional software is required to be loaded on the laptop, it must taken to Room 120.
- The laptop is only used for the educational purposes of the student and in accordance with the School’s policies.
- The School strongly suggests that a laptop case/sleeve is purchased to protect the laptop. Please ensure the laptop is kept in a safe place at all times.
- No stickers or other materials are to be attached to any part of the laptop, and the laptop should be kept clean using a soft cloth and appropriate computer screen cleaner.
- The laptop must be kept in the student’s possession and not loaned to anyone. No other students are permitted to use the laptop, log in to the laptop, or log in to software on the laptop.
- No food or liquid should be consumed near the laptop.
- The laptop should be shut down and restarted at School at least once a week to ensure that it is kept updated.
- The hardware case of the laptop shall not be opened, and no additional hardware (including a video card, sound card, network card, memory, modem or disk drive) is installed or removed from the laptop.
Laptop Issues
- Students must immediately report to Room 120 if the laptop is lost, stolen or damaged.
- If the hardware or software is faulty, the student should return the laptop to Room 120 immediately.
- In the event of software problems, the School will arrange a repair or complete reload of the School software at no cost.
