This past Saturday, the curtain fell on this year’s Sacred Heart Girls’ College and St John’s Production of High School Musical.
What a toe-tapping show this was, with some catchy tunes, cool moves and a budding romance thrown in the mix.
Each show was performed to a sell-out crowd at the Meteor Theatre in Hamilton. Thanks to everyone who came along, and a massive shout out to the cast and crew for a fantastic, polished stage production!
Look at these snapshots; what a talented, creative cast and crew!
High School Musical Production was a fantastic experience. It was a pleasure to work with such a fun, passionate, and creative group of people. This show has been a confidence-building experience for me. Being a performer who is relatively quiet and reserved, this show has forced me to step outside of my comfort zone. Thank you to everyone who supported and helped me along the way, especially our amazing creative team, Mrs Hale, Mr Barr, Miss Lory, Mrs McHugh, and Mrs Petrin. Without their organisation, direction, and commitment, this show wouldn’t have been the success it was. They are truly brilliant, supportive, and talented people. Playing a lead role like Sharpay is a dream come true, and I’ll be forever grateful for the opportunity to be in this production.

I had an incredible experience putting this musical together; I’ve gathered many valuable memories and relationships I will treasure forever. This musical brought me so much joy in the last few months as we all poured our hearts into making this performance come alive on stage. I felt so blessed to be in a cast that was so much like family, seeing each other grow as we worked together. Playing a lead role was challenging, but having such a supportive partner who was very encouraging helped a lot. Watching every aspect of the show come together after weeks of rehearsal left me feeling so proud. I’ve loved working with the creative team; their guidance helped me immensely with breathing life into Gabriella Montez. I’ve learnt so many things on this journey and am so thankful to have the opportunity to work with these marvellous people.
