Are you ready to rock?
Synopsis
It’s the tail end of the big, bad 1980s in Hollywood, and the party has been raging hard. Aqua Net, Lycra, Heavy Metal flow freely at one of the Sunset Strips last legendary venues, a place where legendary rocker Stacee Jaxx takes the stage and groupies line up for their chance at an autograph. Amidst the madness, aspiring rock star (and resident toilet cleaner) Drew longs to take the stage as the next big thing (and longs for small-town girl Sherri, fresh off the bus from Kansas with stars in her eyes). But the rock and roll fairy-tale is about to end when German developers sweep into town with plans to turn the fabled Strip into just another capitalist strip mall. Can Drew, Sherri and the gang save the strip -- and themselves -- before it’s too late? Only the music of hit bands Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and more hold the answer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who will I audition in front of and what happens at the audition?
The dance audition will be run as a whole group, with our choreographer Emelia Hawthorn and her assistant. Everyone is required to attend this – don’t panic if you’re “not a dancer”; just try your best.
For a named role, you will sing 1 minute and 30 seconds of your prepared song. We will provide a script for you to read. You are required to attend the group dance audition.
For an ensemble audition, you will sing your prepared song as a group (you may be required to sing a line or two on your own). You are required to attend the group dance audition.
Will I have to sing the whole prepared song?
It depends. Usually, we will stop you when we have heard enough. We may only need a few lines, or we may want to hear lots for a specific reason. We may even get you to sing parts of your song again. It can feel really disappointing to get stopped early, but it doesn’t mean you were bad – just that we had heard all we needed to hear.
What if I can’t attend all the rehearsals?
While we must have full commitment during the rehearsal period, there may be unavoidable clashes. If there are any rehearsals you will not be available for, let us know on your audition form.
What if I’m unavailable for the audition dates?
Those wanting to audition must be available on the audition dates, but if you absolutely cannot make it, please email Mrs Hansen.
