Sacred Heart Girls’ College is seeking an experienced Arts teacher wishing to move into a middle leadership role or a current Leader of Learning wishing to diversify and develop their leadership opportunities. Please state areas of expertise in your application.
As a contributor to school-wide strategic development you must be able to demonstrate a sound, evidence-based understanding of effective pedagogy and have the capacity to collaborate effectively and influence meaningful and sustainable change. A key aspect of this role includes coaching and mentoring staff across the Arts Learning Area.

Teacher Aide
We are recruiting for a Teacher Aide to work up to 27.5 hours per week during term time (39 weeks) in a fixed term position this year. We would like the successful applicant to start as soon as possible (as negotiated).
You will join our team of Teacher Aides (Learning Support Assistants), working in partnership with students, teachers, specialists and whānau to support designated students in their learning programmes. Skills and/or experience to support Senior students in Mathematics would be an advantage.
Core to the role is the ability to identify the needs of and to adapt learning materials and resources to aid individual student learning. You will also conduct one-to-one reading/assessments as directed and assist teachers with administrative and classroom activities.
You’ll need to have a high level of initiative and flexibility as you must be able to respond to the changing needs of the students you are working with. It is also important that you are comfortable following direction to ensure consistency in the delivery of designated responsibilities. Excellent organisational and communication skills combined with a high level of literary and numeracy are essential.
You will be working in a friendly, inclusive environment where you will be encouraged to support and contribute to the Catholic Character of the College.
