Leader of Learning: English

Full time, permanent position. 3MU, 1MMA

SHGC is seeking an experienced teacher to lead learning design and effective pedagogy across the English curricula. The English curriculum is an area of growth requiring expertise and innovative practice to respond to the ever-changing needs of students and potential curriculum changes. 

At the heart of this role is the ability to model and mentor contemporary teaching practices that foster student agency, collaboration and critical thinking across curriculum. 

As a contributor to school-wide strategic development you must be able to demonstrate a sound, evidence-based understanding of effective pedagogy and have the capacity to collaborate effectively and influence meaningful and sustainable change.

Sports Administrator

Permanent, part-time position – 20 hours per week, 39 weeks per annum (term time).

Commencing: 20th July, 2026, or as negotiated

The Sports Administrator plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in keeping our extra-curricular sports programme running smoothly. Working alongside the Director of Sport Development and the Sports Coordinator, you will provide essential administrative, logistical, and operational support that enables our students to participate fully in the school’s wide-ranging sporting life.

From coordinating EOTC trips and managing team budgets to contributing to school events and assisting in keeping our community informed, this is a role where your attention to detail and organisational skills will make a real difference every day.

Supporting the Sports Development team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) sports activities
  • Submitting team entries and managing associated payments
  • Preparing and managing sports code budgets, events and tournaments
  • Arranging transportation, accommodation, and travel bookings
  • Liaising with Accounts to ensure all charges are accurate and processed correctly
  • Maintaining up-to-date student sport participation data in the school’s management system (Kamar)
  • Contributing to the organisation of a range of school-wide and seasonal sports events and tournaments
  • Supporting colleagues to ensure timely and accurate information reaches students and parents across all channels, including the school website, social media and newsletter

You are an organised, proactive person who takes pride in keeping things running efficiently and communicating clearly. You will bring:

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • A high degree of initiative and the ability to work autonomously to a consistently high standard
  • A professional, positive, and collaborative approach in all interactions with students, staff, families and the wider community
  • A commitment to confidentiality and discretion
  • A willingness to learn and develop proficiency in key digital systems, with full training and ongoing support provided: Google Classroom, Kamar, Schoolbridge, Kindo, and Approval Max
