Leader of Learning: Physical Education & Health

Sacred Heart Girls’ College is seeking an experienced Physical Education & Health teacher wishing to move into a middle leadership role or a current Leader of Learning wishing to diversify and develop their leadership opportunities.

As a contributor to school-wide strategic development you must be able to demonstrate a sound, evidence-based understanding of effective pedagogy and have the capacity to collaborate effectively and influence meaningful and sustainable change.

As a member of the Waikato Catholic Kāhui Ako, we promote relationship-based learning, guided by the Teaching to the North East profile, PB4L and restorative practices. Social Sciences Teacher

Sacred Heart Girls’ College are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, flexible and innovative practitioner able to teach the Social Sciences curriculum to NCEA Level 3. 

The position will involve teaching in a collaborative and innovative learning environment and designing integrated curriculum with Year 9 and 10 Religious Education.

English Language Tutor

Sacred Heart Girls’ College is a state-integrated Catholic secondary school in Hamilton. We facilitate a small international student programme and have a vacancy for an English Language Tutor.

Join our International Team and play a pivotal role in fostering and enhancing the English proficiency of our international students.

We’re seeking an experienced, dynamic Tutor with ESL expertise to inspire and educate our Year 9 – 12 International students. You’ll be implementing learning experiences, creating resources, and adapting these materials to individual needs, ultimately guiding them towards achieving their goal of expanding their knowledge of the English language.

This is a fixed term position for 2024 and is for up to 18 hours per week during term time only. Lessons are timetabled so flexibility is required.

We seek a person who has experience working with teenagers with varying levels of English and from diverse language and educational backgrounds. The successful candidate will need a high level of initiative, be nurturing, kind and patient and can work effectively in a one-on-one situation and in small groups.

You’ll need to be flexible to respond to the changing needs of the students you are working with. It is also important that you are comfortable following directions to ensure consistency in the delivery of designated responsibilities. Excellent organisational and communication skills combined with a high level of literacy and numeracy are essential.

You will be working in a friendly, inclusive environment where you will be encouraged to support and contribute to the Catholic Character of the College.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Support Staff in Schools’ Collective Agreement. The rate of pay will be dependent upon experience and may range up to $33.23 per hour.
