Religious Education
The Religious Education programme explores our faith, values, and meaning at different levels throughout the school. It is at the heart of our College curriculum.
In Years 9 and 10, our learning is integrated with Social Studies, allowing us to take the values of our faith and the Charism of RNDM and practically apply them by using contexts related to ourselves and our community. Our learning concentrates on making links between our faith, identity, people and place.
At the senior level, we focus on areas of Social Justice and Action, Scripture, World Religions and Church history. Each of our areas of learning makes links to how we understand the world around us today. Religious Education at the senior level is an academic course assessed using NCEA Achievement Standards. Students can achieve endorsements at Levels 2 and 3. Some standards also provide a literacy component.
More detailed information can be found in the Religious Education section of SchoolPoint – our online interactive course selection tool.
