Football

Football is a popular sport at Sacred Heart with a strong following. The game is both competitive and fun while maintaining a good level of fitness. Players compete in a local Saturday competition at various school and public sports fields as well as tournaments throughout the year.

Qualified coaches train our teams and include strength and conditioning programmes and a specific Goal Keeper training plan. Players have the opportunity to be selected to take part in regional Football Development programmes with the ultimate aim of achieving representative status.

Over the years our players have attained a high level of New Zealand and Regional success. Here are recent notables:

  • Jadis Mudaliar – 2023 Premier Wanderers Women’s Team
  • Jadis Mudaliar and Olivia Bult – 2022 Premier Wanderers U19s
  • Kate McConnell – 2020 WaiBop Women’s Team
