Athletics
If you want to keep fit, stay active, challenge yourself or simply be with like-minded people, give athletics a go.
Our school Athletics Day is our first House competition of the year. Held in Term 1 at Porritt Stadium.
Top performing SHGC athletes are selected to participate at the local Central Zones Event and depending on placings may attend Waikato Bay of Plenty Championships and North Island Secondary Schools.
A lot of students who participate in Athletics (October – April) are affiliated with a local Club. All of these clubs provide coaching and help to their members. The internet will provide you with contact details and information regarding these clubs.
Well Done!
We had 26 girls compete at the Central Zones Athletic Champs at Porritt Stadium on March 10th. It was a great effort from all the girls. With many girls finishing with top 3 placings, Including 1st in the Senior Relay, 2nd in the Junior Relay and 3rd in the Intermediate Relay.
