Approximately $300.00. Fees cover registration for Secondary school Nationals, travel and accommodation, Waka hire and a Club donation. Students and whaanau are often involved in fundraising activities in order to subsidize costs. Additional costs include a school singlet and paddle (if you don’t already own one).
Uniform School multi-purpose singlet, black bike shorts
School team training’s often commence 6 weeks prior to Secondary Nationals. This is due to the majority of the paddlers having been involved in Club level Waka Ama over the summer period. Most of our local clubs will promote learn to row sessions for beginners, so these are good to go along to for novice paddlers.
The school team/s will enter two events, the Regional regatta and the Secondary school Nationals.
